It’s been a while since I made the last update for all the things that are new at FileDrop, so here we go.

We are spending a great deal of resources making our suite of tools as friendly as possible.
File Upload Forms and Portals
Form Templates
This feature allows users to easily create templates that they can use to recreate forms that are very similar.
One example is an accounting company that has to create an upload portal for each client. Instead of manually creating each upload portal from scratch, a template is created, and from that a form can be customized faster for each client. All fields, the logo, colors, and so on are saved already, we only edit the from name and maybe the text. Each company is set in a few minutes.
This can work for a marketing company that needs to get different files from it’s clients.
Custom File Naming
You can rename the files you receive via the FileForms to help with organizing them better, especially if you save them in Google Drive.
Available Variables:
{form_title} – Form title
{date} – Current date (use this in prefix/suffix to add date)
{original_name} – Original filename
Example: Prefix: Report_{date}_ → Report_2025-09-23_document.pdf
File Manager
Users can now see their files in the File Manager. All files are visible here even if the files are saved in Google Drive.
PDF Hosting
The PDF hosting service is starting to be used by more and more users, we’ve updated a bit the design and personalization features. We are working on bringing new features to it like personalized URL, tracking and even more security features.
Secure Send
We’ve created Secure Send to solve our own pain when sending large documents to people we work with, users, clients and partners. Email is limited to 25mb and a lot of times the files we send are pretty large, although there are plenty of platforms that can send files I feel that we can solve this in a better way.
You can send a secure message along with files that are up to 1 GB in size, send the same files to multiple recipients, and also have the links expire automatically or after download.
Google Sheets Add-on
We made some minor tweaks to improve file handling in certain cases. In the backend we made some tweaks to improve the upload speed, all users should feel at least 15% faster uploads.
Other small bugs were fixed to make the experience better for all users.
