Google Forms has no signature field. FileDrop Forms do.

Add a signature field to a form, let people sign with a finger, mouse or stylus, and keep a signed PDF of every response. Respondents don't need a Google account, and their files go straight to your Drive.

How it works

A signed form in three steps

Start from scratch, from a template, or from the Google Form you already have.

1. Build or import

Create a new form, or import your existing Google Form so you don't have to rebuild the questions.

2. Add the signature field

Signature is one of twelve field types. Place it next to file uploads, checkboxes and dates, and mark it required.

3. Share and collect

Share the link, embed the form, or send tracked email invites. Each response arrives with its signature and files attached.

What you get

Signatures and files in the same submission

Sign on any device

People sign with a finger on a phone, a stylus on a tablet or a mouse on a desktop. Nothing to install.

No account for the signer

Unlike a Google Form with an upload question, nobody has to sign in to Google to submit.

Uploads in the same step

Ask for an ID, a contract or photos alongside the signature. Files land in your Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.

Signed response PDFs

Keep a PDF of each response with the signature on it, ready to file with the rest of the client's documents.

Invites and reminders

See who opened a request and who hasn't replied, then send a reminder instead of chasing by email.

Answers in a spreadsheet

Push every response to Google Sheets, Excel or Airtable, with links to the files.

Your options

Ways to get a signature on a Google Form

Workaround

Typed name or checkbox

Add a short-answer question for the full name, or an "I agree" checkbox. Quick to set up, but there is no drawn signature.

Workaround

Upload a photo of a signature

People sign on paper, take a photo and upload it. It adds steps, and the upload question makes them sign in to Google first.

Built in

A form with a signature field

Move the form to FileDrop, keep your questions with the Google Forms import, and add a real draw-to-sign field.

Common uses

Forms people sign

  • Consent and waiver forms
  • Client agreements
  • Employee onboarding
  • Contractor approvals
  • Rental applications
  • School permission forms

Questions about signatures in Google Forms

Does Google Forms have a signature field?

No. Google Forms has no signature question type. The usual workarounds are a typed name, a consent checkbox or an uploaded photo of a signature.

Do signers need a Google account?

No. Anyone with the link can fill in and sign a FileDrop form, including the upload fields.

Can I keep my existing Google Form?

Yes. Import it into FileDrop, then add the signature field where you need it.

Is it a legally binding signature?

It is a standard electronic signature: a drawn mark captured with the response. It does not verify the signer's identity, so check whether that is enough for the document you are collecting.

Where do signatures and files end up?

Responses, signatures included, are in your FileDrop dashboard, and you can download a signed PDF of each one. Uploaded files go to your connected Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. The free plan includes one form with 20 responses a month. See pricing for higher limits.
