What type of signature is this?
FileDrop offers a standard electronic signature: a typed or drawn mark, recorded consent, and a signing history. The evidence helps show what happened, but FileDrop does not currently provide verified signer identity, qualified certificates, or a qualified trust service.
Simple electronic signature
A typed or drawn signature linked to an electronic document. This is the level closest to FileDrop’s current signing workflow.
Advanced electronic signature
Requires a stronger, unique link to an identified signer, signer control, and detectable document changes. FileDrop does not claim this level.
Qualified electronic signature
Uses a qualified certificate and qualified signing device. This is the EU level automatically equivalent to a handwritten signature; FileDrop does not offer it.
In the EU, an electronic signature cannot be rejected solely because it is electronic. The signature level required for a particular document depends on applicable law. Check local requirements for documents that need a qualified signature, notarization, or another formal process. Read the European Commission’s guide to signature levels.
