New FileDrop Updates December Edition

Welcome to a new update of the FileDrop suite, our web platform and the Google Workspace Add-On. Most of the focus was our new set of web tools available on the web platform.

Updates for our add-on are planned for January when we will release an improved interface based on the new uploader plus a new way to do image insertion and listing in bulk.

The FileDrop Web Platform got a new set of tools available right away. Let’s get started.

Document Conversion

The document conversion tool allows you to upload 37 types of document formats and convert them to another format. Currently we allow only 1 document per upload, we are still testing this and you can too. Available to all Business+ users.

Image Conversion

We have a ton of users that are working with images in Google Sheets,  for example this tool will help all of them to convert HEIC to PNG or JPG in no time. Our image conversion tool supports 38 image formats. This tool is available to both Pro and Business+ users, you can add up to 200 images at once with a limit of 1000 images per day.

Translate Documents

If you need to translate an entire document like Word, PPTX or PDF you can use our document translator.  Powerd by DeepL,  the tool will keep the formatting of the original document as much as possible. Available to Business+ users with a limit of 4 documents per month.

Bulk OCR – Text Extraction

Upload up to 100 images or PDF files and do text extraction in batches. We provide 2 types of OCR engines depending on your type of document, with high-accuracy image vision supporting many languages. You can use it for up to 2000 files per month. If you need more credits please contact us.

Image Editor

There are nine on-the-fly effects you can apply right away: crop, rotate, enhance, sharpen, blur, mirror, flip, grayscale, and more. The image editor is available to both paid and free users; login to test.

Integrations

With the new integrations, we allow users to import files from different online services. Currently, you can import files from:

  • Google Drive
  • Google Photos
  • Dropbox
  • Filckr
  • Onedrive
  • Box

Coming Next

We are currently working on integrating Zapier, and the next on the list is Make.com. When this is ready, we will make a new announcement, as this is going to change how you work with files in the FileDrop Web Platform.
