We’ve been working on the two things you asked us about most: more control over how your forms look, and more control over where your files end up in Google Drive. Here’s what’s new.
Choose exactly where your files go in Google Drive
Name your folder, or pick one you already have.
When you create a form with Google Drive turned on, you now choose: create a new folder and give it a name, or save into a folder you already use, including folders in shared drives. New folders are named after your form instead of a string of numbers.
Pick a folder structure that fits how you work.
For each form you can now decide how uploads are organised:
- One folder per submission, as before
- One folder per person, so repeat submitters always land in the same place
- One folder per month, ideal for recurring uploads
- No subfolders, with every file in one folder and the submitter’s name added to each file name
Make forms look like your brand
- Fonts. Choose from 14 popular fonts, such as Poppins, Montserrat, Lora and Playfair Display. They’re hosted by us, so your form pages don’t load fonts from Google.
- Text color and corner style for the whole page, from square to fully rounded.
- Custom CSS for anything else you want to fine-tune.
- Saved themes. Style one form, save it, and apply the same look to your other forms in a click.
- A progress bar that fills as people answer, so longer forms feel shorter.
Ask better questions
- Rating and scale field. Stars or numbered buttons, on any scale from 0 to 10, with labels such as “Poor” and “Excellent”.
- Time and duration field. Collect a time of day or a length of time like 1:30.
- “Other” option. Let people type their own answer on checkbox, radio and dropdown questions.
- Answer rules. Require text answers to match a pattern, such as an order number that looks like ABC-1234, with your own error message.
Keep it to one reply per person
Turn on one response per person and a second submission is blocked. You can identify people by email address or by browser.
Try it
Open any form in FileDrop. You’ll find fonts, themes and the new field types under Design, the progress bar and one-response limit under General, and your Google Drive folder options under Integrations. We’d love to hear how you use them.
Coffee vs. FileDrop – The Productivity Showdown
The Bottom Line:
One keeps you awake. The other gets work done.
A month of coffee: $80
A month of FileDrop: $19
Why not have both?
